Off-duty Chicago police sergeant rescues 3 who fell off jet ski into Lake Michigan near 63rd Street Beach

Chicago police Sgt. Donovan Jackson was relaxing on his boat Tuesday evening when he suddenly heard a helicopter hovering above.
When he emerged from his 33-foot Sea Ray, docked in Jackson Harbor, Jackson saw police and fire vehicles driving toward Lake Michigan.
Jackson then rushed to the top of a nearby hill, where he saw people in the water near 63rd Street Beach and a capsized water scooter.
The 22-year police veteran was off duty, but duty still called. And for Jackson, who spent 12 years as a Chicago Park District lifeguard, instincts quickly kicked in.
